Investing.com – Canada equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Toronto, the added 0.41%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the were Lithium Americas Corp (TSX:), which rose 8.59% or 0.45 points to trade at 5.69 at the close. Tilray Inc (TSX:) added 6.45% or 0.16 points to end at 2.64 and Lithium Americas Corp (TSX:) was up 5.79% or 0.30 points to 5.48 in late trade.

Biggest losers included International Petroleum Corp (TSX:), which lost 5.50% or 0.79 points to trade at 13.57 in late trade. Energy Fuels Inc. (TSX:) declined 2.67% or 0.27 points to end at 9.84 and FirstService Corp (TSX:) shed 2.44% or 5.54 points to 221.49.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 512 to 435 and 110 ended unchanged on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
