Investing.com – Canada equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Toronto, the added 0.13% to hit a new 52-week high.

The biggest gainers of the session on the were Filo Mining Corp (TSX:), which rose 9.07% or 1.77 points to trade at 21.29 at the close. New Gold Inc (TSX:) added 6.67% or 0.10 points to end at 1.60 and Orla Mining Ltd (TSX:) was up 5.84% or 0.26 points to 4.71 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Ballard Power Systems Inc (TSX:), which lost 6.06% or 0.28 points to trade at 4.34 in late trade. NovaGold Resources Inc (TSX:) declined 5.63% or 0.21 points to end at 3.52 and BRP Inc (TSX:) shed 4.41% or 3.97 points to 86.03.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 495 to 449 and 110 ended unchanged on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
