Canada shares higher at close of trade; S&P/TSX Composite up 0.08% By Investing.com

Investing.com – Canada equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Toronto, the rose 0.08% to hit a new all time high.

The biggest gainers of the session on the were Ballard Power Systems Inc (TSX:), which rose 18.04% or 0.68 points to trade at 4.45 at the close. IAMGold Corporation (TSX:) added 9.29% or 0.42 points to end at 4.94 and NexGen Energy Ltd. (TSX:) was up 8.74% or 0.92 points to 11.45 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Northwest Healthcare Properties REIT (TSX:), which lost 4.05% or 0.19 points to trade at 4.50 in late trade. CT Real Estate Investment Trust (TSX:) declined 2.52% or 0.36 points to end at 13.91 and Brookfield Infrastructure Partners LP (TSX:) shed 2.46% or 1.04 points to 41.26.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 493 to 464 and 88 ended unchanged on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
