CANADA FX DEBT – Canadian dollar strengthens, benchmark yield climbs

The Canadian dollar strengthened against the greenback on Monday, and the yield on benchmark government debt climbed.

The loonie was trading 0% higher at C$1.3568 to the greenback, or 73.7 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of 1.3553 to 1.3578.

Canadian government 10-year bond yields rose 4.4 basis points to 3.01%. The yield on similar U.S. government benchmark debt rose to 3.7381%.

U.S. October crude futures rose 44 cents to $68.11 a barrel on Monday.
