BP joins consortium for green hydrogen development in Egypt

BP has signed a Joint Development Agreement (JDA) to join an existing consortium comprising Masdar, Hassan Allam Utilities, and Infinity Power. The goal is to explore the potential development of a multi-phase green hydrogen (gH2) project in Egypt.

Under the JDA, BP will serve as the lead developer and operator on behalf of the consortium. The partners are consolidating their respective gH2 projects in Egypt and also investigating the feasibility of a large-scale, multi-phase project focused on green hydrogen development and exports.

The newly formed consortium has also signed a Framework Agreement (FWA) with the Egyptian government. This agreement enables them to conduct studies and evaluate the technical and commercial feasibility of the project.
