Avangrid Signs Agreement With American Municipal Power To Supply Renewable Energy From Blue Creek Wind Project To Ohio Homes And Businesses

Avangrid, Inc., a top energy company and part of the Iberdrola Group, has signed a short-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with American Municipal Power, Inc. (AMP). Under this agreement, AMP will buy a portion of the electricity generated by Avangrid’s Blue Creek project in Ohio. This deal helps ensure that Blue Creek continues to provide reliable energy while also benefiting rural Ohio communities through jobs, lease payments, and tax revenue.

Pedro Azagra, Avangrid CEO, said “Blue Creek is one of Avangrid’s largest operating assets and remains a fixture in the local community.
