As the world shifts toward greener energy sources, the renewable energy sector is poised for major growth – and fresh challenges.

Global policymakers set a target of tripling renewable capacity by 2030 at the COP28 climate change conference last year, and forecasts suggest that solar and wind power will lead the way.

Over the next five years, these twin drivers will account for 96% of capacity additions, according to the Renewables 2023 report from the International Energy Agency (IEA).
