FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) – The Dax continued its record rally on Friday. At the end of trading, the leading German index was 1.22 percent higher at 19,473.63 points. Dekabank chief economist Ulrich Kater believes it is already on its way to the 20,000-point mark – currently only less than 3 percent away. The MDax of medium-sized companies rose by 1.54% to 27,210.14 points on Friday.
The weekly performance of the Dax is impressive with a plus of 4 percent. Price gains of 3 and 6.8 percent respectively are on the cards for the often weak boron month of September and the third quarter, which also ends on Monday. The chart experts at British bank HSBC pointed out that this would be “the first positive September performance since 2019”.
