FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) – After a sluggish start to the week, the Dax is still struggling to get going on Tuesday. Although its US counterpart, the Dow Jones Industrial, had reached a record high the day before, it failed to maintain it and ultimately only made slight gains.
Technology stocks, which are particularly in focus, even fell. Stagnation at a high level therefore remains the order of the day on the German stock market after the recent three-week price rally. Investors are therefore primarily waiting for quarterly figures from chip group Nvidia in the middle of the week. The results of the specialist for computer chips for AI applications will send a signal to the entire industry.
The Dax improved by 0.1 percent to 18,630 points in the first few minutes of trading. The MDax rose by 0.2 percent to 25,215 points and the Eurozone’s leading index, the EuroStoxx 50, also gained 0.2 percent./ag/mis
