FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) – The recently strong Dax rose slightly further on Monday. The leading German index gained 0.24 percent to 19,419.59 points. This brings the stock market barometer closer to the record high of 19,491 points reached at the end of September.
“Things are going well for the Dax at the moment,” wrote market analyst Jochen Stanzl from trading firm CMC Markets. The reporting season that has started in the USA is generating profit fantasy and Wall Street remains calm in view of the approaching presidential elections. Nevertheless, there was disappointment that the Chinese authorities had announced too little concrete information on the upcoming measures to stimulate the economy on Saturday.
The MDax of medium-sized companies rose by 0.18 percent to 26,887.45 points. The EuroStoxx 50, the leading eurozone index, rose only slightly./la/mis
