FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) – The Dax took a break after the recent rally on Monday. The German leading index fell by 0.24 percent to 19,425.98 points in the first few minutes of trading as the mixed data from overseas did not provide any tailwind either. The MDax of medium-sized companies lost 0.23 percent to 27,147.69 points. The EuroStoxx 50, the leading eurozone index, fell by around 0.3 percent.
However, for the end of September – often a weak month for the stock market – the Dax is expected to gain 2.7 percent and for the third quarter an increase of 6.5 percent. Since the beginning of the year, the index has risen by a good 16 percent./gl/jha/
