Frankfurt stock market opening: Dax barely moved – trade talks in focus

Date:

FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) – Consolidation below record highs continued on the German stock market on Tuesday. In early trading, the DAX was slightly below the previous day’s closing price at 24,130 points. On Whit Monday, the stock market barometer had fallen slightly in lethargic trading.

According to traders, there has been a lack of momentum for a clear trend so far. However, talks between China and the US brought some movement to the markets. According to Chinese state media, the two countries are continuing negotiations in London today to end their trade dispute.

The MDax fell by 0.7 percent to 30,656 points in morning trading. The Eurozone’s leading index, the EuroStoxx 50, was down moderately at 5,418 points./bek/stk
