Frankfurt stock market opening: Slight losses in holiday trading

FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) – The DAX fell slightly in early trading on Whit Monday. The leading index was just below its record level, down 0.2 percent at 24,263 points. On Thursday, the DAX reached its all-time high of 24,479 points, representing an annual gain of almost 23 percent. Market participants expect subdued movements in the major stock indices due to the public holiday and low trading volumes.

The MDAX remained unchanged at 30,874 points in morning trading. The Eurozone’s leading index, the EuroStoxx 50, fell by 0.1 percent./bek/stw
