Chinese Stocks Open Higher On Trade Certainty

Chinese stocks opened higher on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.33 percent to open at 3,352.97 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index opened 0.92 percent higher at 10,220.33 points

The positive trend can be attributed to the recent trade talks between China and US which has been hailed by both nations leaders as positive and constructive.

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Trade Representative Jamieson Greer described “substantial progress” and also said details would be announced on Monday.

While a senior Chinese official said the two sides have reached a series of major consensuses, adding that China and the United States have also agreed to establish an economic and trade consultation mechanism.
