Materials and industrials lift Sri Lankan shares higher — TradingView News

Sri Lankan shares closed higher on Tuesday, led by materials and industrial stocks.

* The CSE All-Share index ASI settled 0.76% higher at 15,934.38 points.

* Ceylon Beverage Holdings BREW.N0000 and Lanka Ashok Leyland ASHO.N0000 were the top gainers by index points, up 79.75 points and 70 points, respectively, on the day.

* Trading volume on the index rose to 63.09 million shares from 52.90 million shares in the previous session.

* The equity market’s turnover rose to 1.91 billion Sri Lankan rupees from 1.66 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.

* Foreign investors were net sellers, offloading stocks worth 164.49 million rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers, purchasing shares worth 1.82 billion rupees, the data showed.
