FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) – The Dax initially continued to rise on Friday. In the first few minutes of trading, the leading German index gained 1.13 percent to 20,795.60 points. This represents a gain of 0.7 percent for the turbulent stock market week that is coming to an end. The MDax of medium-sized companies rose by 1.06% to 25,976.22 points on Friday morning. The EuroStoxx 50, the leading eurozone index, rose by 1 percent.
On Thursday, US President Donald Trump suspended the recently imposed country-specific special tariffs for most countries. His erratic actions thus continue, especially as he simultaneously intensified the confrontation with China – the economic concerns are therefore not diminishing.
The focus is now shifting to the start of the US reporting season. In the early afternoon, the banks JPMorgan, Wells Fargo and Morgan Stanley will present their quarterly reports. Price data from the USA also promises…
