Panama President Jose Raul Mulino said on Thursday that his government has not been yet notified by Canada’s First Quantum Minerals that the miner has suspended arbitration over its shuttered copper mine in the country.

He added that he will start talks with his team and the country’s mining chamber next week to discuss issues about the mine, Cobre Panama, which the government shut down in late 2023.
