FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) – The Dax remained close to 23,000 points on Monday with little movement at the start. The leading German index hovered around its Friday closing price in the first few minutes of trading. At 22,987.39 points, it was unchanged in percentage terms. It thus continued to move within its range of recent weeks, which was characterized by ups and downs between the low of 22,200 and the record of 23,475 points.
The MDax of medium-sized companies rose by 0.41% to 29,282.80 points on Monday morning. The leading eurozone index, the EuroStoxx 50, fell by 0.3 percent.
“The major sell-off turned into a sideways phase in the past week,” said Helaba experts in a commentary in the morning. Despite price gains, the international stock markets hardly provided any tailwind. In New York, the stock markets had extended their gains somewhat in late trading on Friday./tih/jha/
