FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) – The Dax hit another record high on Thursday thanks to further gains. In early trading, the leading German index rose by 1.01 percent to 23,314.05 points. The MDax of medium-sized companies rose by 1.29 percent to 30,146.90 points. The leading eurozone index EuroStoxx 50 gained 0.7 percent.
The Dax was supported by friendly data from overseas. The previous evening, hopes of a more moderate stance in the US tariff dispute with Mexico and Canada had also sent the New York stock markets on a recovery course. Price gains were also recently recorded in Asia. Ahead of the European Central Bank’s (ECB) interest rate decision in the afternoon, the German stock market also focused on a flood of corporate figures following the future German government’s historic financial package./gl/jha
