The last time polka dots were seriously popular was in the 2010s when you couldn’t swing a cat without hitting an It-girl like Zooey Deschanel or Alexa Chung in a stiff, puff-sleeved, Peter Pan collared polka dot dress. Their fits weren’t a far cry from the special occasion pinafores of our childhoods, and it’s been a long time since the print had any cache.
