Canada stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/TSX Composite up 0.61% By Investing.com

Investing.com – Canada stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Toronto, the gained 0.61%.

The best performers of the session on the were Tilray Inc (TSX:), which rose 15.17% or 0.27 points to trade at 2.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Birchcliff Energy Ltd . (TSX:) added 7.01% or 0.33 points to end at 5.04 and Paramount Resources Ltd . (TSX:) was up 5.95% or 1.74 points to 30.98 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were BRP Inc (TSX:), which fell 3.66% or 2.77 points to trade at 72.86 at the close. Superior Plus Corp (TSX:) declined 3.28% or 0.21 points to end at 6.20 and Crombie REIT (TSX:) was down 2.61% or 0.36 points to 13.44.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Toronto Stock Exchange by 492 to 427 and 108 ended unchanged.

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P/TSX Composite options, was down 5.57% to 11.01.
