GreenTech Hub set to address energy storage

GreenTech Hub has unveiled its first green tech innovation challenge, which will focus on energy storage.

Through this challenge the Hub will explore innovative solutions to enhance reliability and efficiency for energy storage options suitable for metropolitan and rural applications. 

The challenge is the first of several for the newly established hub, which aims to advance WA’s expertise and infrastructure in green technology and services to support WA’s energy transition toward net zero emissions by 2050.

The Hub is funded at $4 million over 4 years through the $40 million Lower Carbon Grants Program and GreenTech Hub Fund, a collaboration between the State and Chevron for the Gorgon Joint Venture.

After a competitive Expressions of Interest process Curtin University was announced as the Hub’s Operator.

Over the next 4 years, the institution will undertake the management and service delivery of the GreenTech Hub.
