Texas Stock Exchange sues Toronto Stock Exchange over trademark dispute

The nascent Texas Stock Exchange filed a lawsuit this week against a Canadian stock exchange over its trademark. The complaint says the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) waited more than a year to file a cease and desist over its branding and acronym TXSE. TXSE described the demand as “absurd,” and the timing of the demands as “particularly pernicious,” according to the complaint filed on Wednesday, October 16, in a federal Texas court. TSX issued…
