Canada stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/TSX Composite up 0.94% By Investing.com

Investing.com – Canada stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Toronto, the gained 0.94%.

The best performers of the session on the were iA Financial Corporation Inc (TSX:), which rose 16.51% or 18.99 points to trade at 134.00 at the close. Meanwhile, TFI International Inc (TSX:) added 11.40% or 21.33 points to end at 208.51 and Algoma Steel Group Inc (TSX:) was up 7.95% or 1.16 points to 15.76 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Stella-Jones Inc. (TSX:), which fell 14.44% or 12.67 points to trade at 75.05 at the close. Tilray Inc (TSX:) declined 12.24% or 0.30 points to end at 2.15 and Bird Construction Inc . (TSX:) was down 11.23% or 3.49 points to 27.60.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Toronto Stock Exchange by 494 to 435 and 86 ended unchanged.
