Investing.com – Canada stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Toronto, the declined 0.58%.

The best performers of the session on the were Celestica Inc. (TSX:), which rose 2.62% or 2.03 points to trade at 79.47 at the close. Meanwhile, Equinox Gold Corp (TSX:) added 2.59% or 0.21 points to end at 8.33 and Restaurant Brands Intl (TSX:) was up 1.99% or 1.98 points to 101.70 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Seabridge Gold Inc . (TSX:), which fell 6.41% or 1.82 points to trade at 26.57 at the close. BlackBerry Ltd (TSX:) declined 5.52% or 0.20 points to end at 3.42 and Denison Mines Corp (TSX:) was down 5.06% or 0.16 points to 3.00.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Toronto Stock Exchange by 648 to 273 and 123 ended unchanged.
