Canada stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/TSX Composite up 0.53% By Investing.com

Investing.com – Canada stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Toronto, the rose 0.53% to hit a new all time high.

The best performers of the session on the were IAMGold Corporation (TSX:), which rose 16.57% or 1.17 points to trade at 8.23 at the close. Meanwhile, First Majestic Silver Corp. (TSX:) added 15.33% or 1.34 points to end at 10.08 and Pan American Silver Corp (TSX:) was up 10.53% or 3.21 points to 33.69 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Calibre Mining Corp (TSX:), which fell 3.94% or 0.11 points to trade at 2.68 at the close. Bombardier Inc (TSX:) declined 3.86% or 4.26 points to end at 105.99 and Interfor Corp (TSX:) was down 2.63% or 0.54 points to 20.02.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Toronto Stock Exchange by 625 to 328 and 87 ended unchanged.
