Borse Frankfurt-News: Hopes for ECB and reporting season (weekly outlook)

FRANKFURT (DEUTSCHE-BOERSE AG) – The prospect of a further fall in interest rates, good quarterly figures and the absence of a US recession are supporting the buying mood. Highlight of the week: the ECB meeting on Thursday.

October 14, 2024 – A successful start to the US reporting season on Friday is also providing a tailwind here in Germany, but the prospect of further falling interest rates remains more important. “Interest rate fantasy is currently the fuel that keeps the stock markets going,” explains Claudia Windt from Helaba.

The DAX stood at 19,367 points on Monday morning after closing at just under 19,374 points on Friday. The record high of 19,491 points from the end of September thus remains in sight. In the USA, the Dow Jones and S&P 500 reached new all-time highs again on Friday.
