Investing.com – Canadian equities started mixed on Monday, with rises in Materials and Energy; while REIT, Real Estate and Renewable Energy and Clean Technology indices dropped.

At the market open in Toronto, the climbed 0.16%. The and the also increased. The TSX Venture rose 0.40%, while the Smallcap increased by 1.26%.

  • Osisko Mining (TSX:): Climbed 62.76% or 1.84 points to 4.79
  • Kelt Exploration (TSX:): Increased 6.76% or 0.38 points to 6.00
  • IAMGold (TSX:): Rose 6.74% or 0.40 points to 6.25

Top Losers:

  • Ballard (TSX:): Declined 3.75% or 0.10 points to 2.57
  • Mattr Corp (TSX:): Dropped 4.78% or 0.77 points to 15.33
  • Algonquin Power (TSX:): Fell 3.37% or 0.25 points to 7.17

In Commodities Trading:

  • for September delivery climbed 1.13 points to 77.97 a barrel.
  • October Contract rose by 1.04% or 0.83 points to 80.49 a barrel.
