TSX Composite up; shares mixed at market open By Investing.com

Investing.com – Canadian equities started with gains on Friday, with rises in all sectors, the most notable ones being the Communication Services, Information Technology, Consumer Discretionary and Materials sectors.

At the market open in Toronto, the rose 0.60%. The and the also increased. The TSX Venture climbed 0.43%, while the Smallcap increased by 0.35%.

Top Gainers:

  • Aritzia (TSX:): Increased 10.82% or 4.49 points to 46.00
  • Cogeco (TSX:) Communications: Rose 6.39% or 3.31 points to 55.15
  • Capstone Mining (TSX:): Climbed 4.27% or 0.42 points to 10.38

Top Losers:

  • Richelieu Hardware (TSX:): Fell 1.14% or 0.46 points to 39.77
  • Wesdome Gold (TSX:) Mines: Declined 1.70% or 0.23 points to 13.28
  • Superior Plus Corp (TSX:): Dropped 0.70% or 0.06 points to 8.57

In Commodities Trading:

  • for August delivery rose 0.43 points to 83.05 a barrel.
  • September Contract is up by 0.35% or 0.30 drop to 85.70 a barrel.
