Investing.com – Canadian equities started with gains on Wednesday, with rises in majority of sectors, the most notable ones being the Materials, Consumer Staples, Industrials and Utilities sectors.
At the market open in Toronto, the TSX Composite Index rose 0.67%. The TSX Venture and the TSX Smallcap also increased. The TSX Venture climbed 0.91%, while the Smallcap increased by 0.95%.

- Novagold (TSX:NG): Dropped 1.46% or 0.07 points to 5.04
