BRIGHTON, N.Y. (WROC) — An important safety reminder from officials after a different type of fire this week in the City of Rochester. And its cause, something we hold as close as in the palm of our hand.
They’re everywhere. From our cell phones, to now even some car batteries. Lithium-ion batteries are used in devices we use every single day. And with this increased presence, local fire crews want to remind residents how to use them safely.
On West Avenue in Rochester Tuesday, Rochester firefighters responded after a car battery caught fire in the front section of a tractor trailer — leading to a level zero hazmat response. This, meaning crews had to use special procedures to cool down the fire correctly.
