Canada stocks lower at close of trade; S&P/TSX Composite down 0.27% By Investing.com

Investing.com – Canada stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Toronto, the lost 0.27% to hit a new 3-months low.

The best performers of the session on the were Shopify Inc (TSX:), which rose 4.56% or 4.05 points to trade at 92.94 at the close. Meanwhile, Cargojet Inc (TSX:) added 4.14% or 5.08 points to end at 127.74 and goeasy Ltd (TSX:) was up 3.30% or 6.14 points to 192.03 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were BlackBerry Ltd (TSX:), which fell 6.92% or 0.24 points to trade at 3.23 at the close. Ballard Power Systems Inc (TSX:) declined 4.57% or 0.17 points to end at 3.55 and Alimentation Couche Tard Inc (TSX:) was down 3.78% or 2.98 points to 75.90.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Toronto Stock Exchange by 609 to 349 and 101 ended unchanged.
