Brimfield CUSD Collaborates with Nexamp for 3MW Jubilee Solar Project, Targeting Cost Savings and Renewable Energy Expansion in Illinois

Brimfield Community Unit School District (CUSD) 309, situated in Brimfield, Illinois, has opted to participate in the Nexamp community solar program to lower its annual electric expenses and bolster renewable energy contributions to the Ameren utility grid. Under a 20-year contract, the district, serving Pre-Kindergarten through twelfth-grade students across two separate school campuses, anticipates saving over $22,000 annually.

Dubbed Jubilee Solar, the solar farm will be located on school grounds near the high school baseball field, serving as a visible symbol of the district’s commitment to environmental sustainability and community health. The project is expected to generate 3 megawatts of solar energy from approximately 5,500 solar panels mounted on a tracker system that follows the sun throughout the day.
