Canada shares lower at close of trade; S&P/TSX Composite down 0.14% By Investing.com

Investing.com – Canada equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Toronto, the declined 0.14%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the were Nuvei Corp (TSX:), which rose 7.30% or 2.85 points to trade at 41.88 at the close. Tilray Inc (TSX:) added 7.19% or 0.21 points to end at 3.13 and NovaGold Resources Inc (TSX:) was up 5.49% or 0.19 points to 3.65 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Canada Goose Holdings Inc (TSX:), which lost 6.73% or 1.09 points to trade at 15.11 in late trade. Athabasca Oil Corp (TSX:) declined 4.76% or 0.26 points to end at 5.20 and ATS Corporation (TSX:) shed 4.42% or 2.21 points to 47.78.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 496 to 455 and 114 ended unchanged on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P/TSX Composite options, was down 5.93% to 10.78.
