Canada shares higher at close of trade; S&P/TSX Composite up 0.19% By Investing.com

Investing.com – Canada equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Toronto, the gained 0.19% to hit a new all time high.

The biggest gainers of the session on the were Celestica Inc. (TSX:), which rose 7.21% or 4.28 points to trade at 63.68 at the close. BlackBerry Ltd (TSX:) added 5.35% or 0.19 points to end at 3.74 and Capstone Mining Corp (TSX:) was up 3.19% or 0.25 points to 8.09 in late trade.

Biggest losers included First Quantum Minerals Ltd . (TSX:), which lost 5.78% or 0.85 points to trade at 13.85 in late trade. Alimentation Couche Tard Inc (TSX:) declined 4.21% or 3.43 points to end at 78.09 and New Gold Inc (TSX:) shed 3.49% or 0.08 points to 2.21.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 617 to 358 and 100 ended unchanged on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
