Canada shares lower at close of trade; S&P/TSX Composite down 0.05% By Investing.com

Investing.com – Canada equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the , and sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Toronto, the fell 0.05%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the were Nuvei Corp (TSX:), which rose 32.27% or 9.48 points to trade at 38.86 at the close. Tilray Inc (TSX:) added 10.64% or 0.25 points to end at 2.60 and Vermilion Energy Inc . (TSX:) was up 5.04% or 0.77 points to 16.06 in late trade.

Biggest losers included BlackBerry Ltd (TSX:), which lost 6.79% or 0.26 points to trade at 3.57 in late trade. NovaGold Resources Inc (TSX:) declined 5.35% or 0.20 points to end at 3.54 and New Gold Inc (TSX:) shed 3.48% or 0.08 points to 2.22.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 476 to 463 and 122 ended unchanged on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P/TSX Composite options, was up 3.86% to 12.12.
