Hong Kong stocks decline for third day as Japanese stocks gain

Asia-Pacific stocks decreased Friday, Feb. 9, with shares in Hong Kong declining for the third day and the Japanese market showing a second day of increases.

fell 0.8% to 15,746.58, while the Nikkei 225 Index

of Japanese companies increased 0.1% to 36,897.42.

The FTSE Straits Times Index

of Singapore stocks declined 0.1% to 3,138.30, while China’s Shanghai Stock Exchange was closed. The S&P/ASX 200 Benchmark Index

+0.07%

of Australian stocks rose 0.1% to 7,644.80, while South Korea’s Korea Exchange was closed.

Among Hang Seng Index constituents, sports clothing/footwear company Anta Sports Products

+1.58%

saw the largest increase Friday, as shares added 1.6%.
