Investing.com – Canada equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Toronto, the gained 0.11% to hit a new 52-week high.

The biggest gainers of the session on the were Mattr Corp (TSX:), which rose 7.28% or 1.12 points to trade at 16.51 at the close. Lundin Gold Inc (TSX:) added 3.89% or 0.62 points to end at 16.54 and Lightspeed Commerce Inc (TSX:) was up 3.40% or 0.83 points to 25.25 in late trade.

Biggest losers included NovaGold Resources Inc (TSX:), which lost 4.99% or 0.20 points to trade at 3.81 in late trade. IAMGold Corporation (TSX:) declined 3.83% or 0.13 points to end at 3.26 and Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. (TSX:) shed 3.62% or 0.54 points to 14.37.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 549 to 396 and 112 ended unchanged on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
