Gary Lineker, the BBC‘s highest-paid presenter, has been grabbing the headlines ever since the presenter appeared to endorse an Israeli academic who described Israel’s operation in Gaza as a ‘textbook genocide’.
After violating the BBC’s social media guidelines in March, Lineker, who was temporarily suspended, posted a video on X (formerly known as Twitter) wherein scholar Raz Segal defined genocide.
The presenter further added that the video was “worth 13 minutes of anyone’s time”.
Adding more, Lineker said that many of his followers, nearly 9 million, thanked the presenter for sharing the clip. The clip was originally posted by The Guardian columnist Owen Jones.
Meanwhile, Segal, who is a professor of Holocaust and genocide, completed his studies at Stockton University.
