Investing.com – Canada equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Toronto, the gained 0.14%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the were NexGen Energy Ltd. (TSX:), which rose 2.66% or 0.24 points to trade at 9.27 at the close. Denison Mines Corp (TSX:) added 2.65% or 0.06 points to end at 2.32 and Cargojet Inc (TSX:) was up 2.36% or 2.75 points to 119.17 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Tilray Inc (TSX:), which lost 3.47% or 0.11 points to trade at 3.06 in late trade. OceanaGold Corporation (TSX:) declined 3.42% or 0.09 points to end at 2.54 and Lithium Americas Corp (TSX:) shed 2.68% or 0.23 points to 8.35.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 588 to 374 and 103 ended unchanged on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
